Client
Success Stories Our clients have diverse needs and requirements. Unlike most personal training studios that target clients in a 3-5 mile radius of the facility, our clients are typically outside of that 3-5 mile radius. Once they recognize the uniqueness of the facility and our services drive times often become a secondary consideration. The following is a list of actual Desk Jockey Fitness client profiles. For ethical reasons, the names have been changed. Is there someone in this list that reminds you of you? Or a friend, family member of business associate? Golfer with low back pain. Kevin L is a 43 year old sales executive that loves the game of golf. Unfortunately, due to low back pain, Kevin can only play 13-14 holes per round before the pain gets to the point where his swing has changed. After a round of golf he needs to take the next day off to give his back time to recover. This is very frustrating for someone who always wants to play. After a few months of training two times per week and a couple of trips to physical therapy for some soft tissue work, Kevin is now able to enjoy full rounds of golf on consecutive days without concern over back pain. He also has indicated that he feels more stable and better balanced during his swing which results in better golf shots. Balance and Spatial Deficits. Susan T is a 57 year old self-employed graphic artist. Several years ago she suffered from Ramsey-Hunt disease, a form of shingles, that resulted in inner ear damage to her left ear. She also has Hashimoto's Disease, a thyroid condition that affects her metabolism making her weight management a real challenge. As a result her balance skills were severely impaired. For example, walking while looking over her left shoulder as one might do in an airport terminal was nearly impossible for here. Susan chose to train aggressively to overcome her balance problems. When Susan first started working on her balance skills she was barely able to stand on a "rocker board" without real concern of falling off. After 12 weeks of training Susan was not only able to stand on a balance board with confidence, but she was able to do it while throwing a 10 pound medicine ball into a rebounder trampoline. With a physical impairment like inner ear damage she will always be prone to spatial and balance skills. But with a little training she has been able to significantly improve her existing balance and spatial faculties and his able to walk with her head high and without fear of falling. Arthritis Sufferer. Halle B is a 49 year old management consultant that has battled rheumatoid arthritis since she was 6 years old. For her many basic tasks such as putting on a pair of socks is a major undertaking. As a result of years of joint pain her flexibility is practically non-existent. Although her original intent for seeking out the services of a fitness professional was to achieve weight loss, it was immediately apparent that she would benefit the most by addressing some of her ROM issues. After several sessions of stretching and light strength training she is already able to move about more freely with less pain. Additionally, as a result of her strength conditioning program she now feels more toned which has translated into a better view of herself. Belly Dancer with low back pain. Joan K is a 32 year old competitive belly dancer. She takes dance lessons 2-3 times a week. By day she is a bank auditor... A classic Desk Jockey. Joan has experienced low back pain on the left side for over a year. The pain is not constant but it sometimes does interfere with her ability to fully enjoy her belly dancing experiences. The back pain is sometimes more prevalent when she first wakes up in the morning. Joan trains at Desk Jockey Fitness one evening per week. During her initial sessions we focused on exercises that serve to strengthen her core and low back stabilizer muscles. Within a couple of months of in-studio and at home training Joan's low back pain is all but eliminated. And her ability to enjoy her dance lessons worry free has dramatically increased!
